River Rib

Nothing new to report on dredging the River Rib. A EHDC enviromental officer joined me on an inspection trip and promised support in our case with the Environmental Agency. The Civic Society report on two pilot areas under the 'Save our Streets' programme is completed. There is a large deficit in basic maintenance to the Town's fabric and this shows-up particularly as uneven pathways and overhanging shrubs and trees representing hazards to young and old alike. The report will be widely distributed and is suitable for quantified and qualitative evidence to EHDC Highways officers and councillors.( Civic Society is grateful to all who participated in this study and especially Chris Eagle who analysed the data and wrote the report)
