Stop Harlow North CampaignThe STOP Harlow North campaign has released a short film (1) explaining why they believe the green fields north of Harlow in East Herts are worth preserving. The release has been planned to coincide with the final week of the consultation on the Issues and Options for East Herts Local Development Framework. The campaign is hoping it will generate a final flood of objections against Harlow north to add to the 2,000 already submitted. The campaign was approached at the end of October by prize winning David Paul Irons (2) from Ware who felt so strongly about the issue that volunteered to help us capture the essence of our campaign in film. Assisted by Jason Smith from Wareside who built the rigs for the countryside shots and Jessica Phillips as crew, David has captured the unique character of the East Herts countryside that is under threat. He combined the stunning rural shots with interviews from Mark Prisk, MP, Nigel Clark (Secretary STOP Harlow North) and the a number of the SHN committee - Angela Alder (Sawbridgeworth), Eric Buckmaster (Mayor Sawbridgeworth), Alan Jenkins (Eastwick and Gilston) and Blaise Morris (Much Hadham). The sound track that accompanies the film brings the whole piece alive. "We were delighted when someone with David's unique skills approached us to make this film. The final result is absolutely brilliant. We have used leaflets, village hall meetings and e-mail in the campaign so far but the medium of film will allow us to bring to life this real threat to rural East Herts. I hope it encourages people to visit our website and object to Harlow North before the consultation ends on 25th November" (3) said Nigel Clark Secretary STOP Harlow North |
