Good afternoon Buntingford Civic Society members
Help us oppose mega dairy
Any
day now, we're expecting a planning application for an indoor mega
dairy for 8,100 cows in Lincolnshire.
This is
the first one of its kind in England and if it goes ahead, could have
serious consequences for the future of smaller traditional dairy farmers and
the countryside.
Please
support our campaign by emailing your MP to sign a parliamentary
motion (EDM 942) against it.
> Email
your MP (as usual, we've set up a draft online letter)
Has Cameron got the bottle?
A
huge thank you if you were one of the 3,109 people who emailed the Government
about our bottle deposit campaign in response to its consultation on how we
deal with our waste. It"s set the record for our most popular campaign
action.
We"ll hear
the outcome of the waste policy consultation next spring and I"ll keep you
up-to-date with our progress.
In the
meantime, we"re already following up your emails with meetings with key
organisations and parliamentarians.
In fact,
at Prime Minister"s Questions shortly after we launched our bottle deposit
campaign, Martin Horwood MP asked whether the Government would take "real,
practical action like a bottle deposit and refund scheme". David Cameron
confirmed that he"d ask the relevant Government team to see if they can "take
it forward". So this is good news, but we hope there will now be real action
to take a scheme forward.
Your Christmas shopping
can help our campaigns
I
can"t believe we"re already in November. You may have started to think about
Christmas and any shopping you need to do, so I just wanted to let you know
that we"ve launched a new online shop in collaboration with the Natural
Collection.
We receive
all proceeds from the sale of CPRE products and at least 10% of net online
sales of other products, raising much needed funds to help our work.

our shop
Next month, I"ll be writing to you with the latest news on our campaign to
save England"s most beautiful landscapes from huge new pylons.
With best
wishes,
