Buntingford Journal

This special edition of the Journal is a celebration of 30 years of publication and the Editor and committee of the Civic Society hope that you will enjoy a 'good read' and are entertained by the reproduction of the very first issue of the Buntingford Journal.

The creators of the Journal were farsighted. They didn't offer a Civic Society newsletter but a magazine for eveybody in Buntingford and surrounding villages. Credit must be given to the first Editor, the late Mrs. S. Clark, a local journalist and we honour and commend her professionalism.

Content then and now captures almost every aspect of life in our community and it is the reason the Journal goes from strength to strength. This approach will not change and the Editor's freedom remains paramount.

There were obviously others who played a major role in launching the Journal and starting with our President, John Reynolds, it would be great to publish letters on this topic in next month's edition.
